MindManager and related applications

I am looking at MindManager 8 and wondering if it is worth it. Does anyone use MindManager 8 and if so, how do they like it.

That said, if you like it, can you recommend a book or other resource to help me to quickly learn this app?

Is there other software that does similar things?

I need an ap to allows me to manage multiple projects, activities, and family time.
